This novel is inspired a true story. Everything related to the complications with the pregnancy and birth of the foal is based on a real horse who belonged to my friend, Jacque. My vet, Dr. Betina Bobsien, was integral in helping me out with the finer medical details.The adventure part of the story is pure fiction but is is based on my personal experience being caught in a violent storm when I was working in the bush. I have never been so terrified in all of my life. Anyone who has lived through a violent storm or tornado will appreciate the fear and awe it inspires.Enjoy the adventure!

Loved the story. I know my granddaughter will as well.

I enjoyed it very much, cause I love horse stories.

My horse crazy granddaughter and I both loved this story. Good to find stories for teens on subjects other than vampires, ghosts, and killings.

I read the entire series of Laura Hesse books. "Oh my. I don't think I've ever seen any book about horses so cute in my life. A warm, friendly story about children and horses.I laughed and I cried and I understood everything that author had to say.The story flows very fast, and I had trouble putting the book down.This was a great read, from the start to the finish.If you haven't read this one, you don't know what you've been missing.Bozena Klejne
