I used this book in Panama. It has great information on the history and culture of Panama which I really enjoyed reading. The print size problem other reviewers referred as being tiny is only in regards to map legend numbers. I had no issues with the print size. What I did not like about the book is it is the 2017 edition but already needs some updating:- There is a direct bus to the tourist center at Miraflores Locks of the Panama Canal from Albrook Mall. Following the guidebook and taking any Gamboa or Paraiso bus is a waste of time as you have to walk 15 minutes from the main road into the Canal facility. At the Albrook Bus Station look for Zone D northbound and take a Miraflores bus from there. Unfortunately there is only one bus an hour so if you don't see a line of people waiting, jump in a cab if you want to save time.- The book needs a Panama City metro map, this is obvious.- Expect the book to require a major update once Panama City's Metro lines 2 and 3 are ready (2019? will include airport connection by metro to downtown Panama City).- The book suggests walking down Avenida Central to get to Casco Viajo from the Cinco de Mayo metro station. This is ridiculous, Avenida Central has no longer any redeeming cultural value; it is like visiting a Walmart in the USA to see how people live. Perhaps in the past it was home to traditional clothing/craft stores but today it is full of appliance, cellphone and cheap clothing stores, and it is NOT a short walk either. Save your time and energy and take a cab to Casco Viajo.- El Gunko in Boquete section: This geologic columnar basalt rock formation, similar to the Giant's Causeway in Ireland, deserves more mention; it is also called Los Ladrillos by the locals, and you won't get anywhere by asking them for El Gunko.

This book is perfect for my style of travel. Not staying in hostels or in Hilton's but in between. Lots of choices! I have several other Panama guide books on my Kindle but ordered this in paper so I can look at on a street corner without exposing my expensive electronics for thieves to target. Great maps!

Maybe this book is for readers < 35yo with excellent vision. I attemtped to read it but the font is unusually small and in many places the font is very light. Wish I paid more heed to the other reviewer who commented on this feature.It's a shame -- It looks like a lot of work went into it and it received positive review.

the print is so small that i am unable to read it for any length of time even with my cheater eyeglasses. it's a pity because what i have read seems quite good.

Unless you already know a lot about Panama, this book will be useless. Very confusing to figure out where places are. Difficult book to navigate. Once you figure out locations, the actual information is limited. Not the book for a first time visitor to Panama. Much too complicated and not enough useful info.

used this more when I returned to catalog the images and places I visited and look up interesting facts including species of wildlife.

This short book was enjoyable, but I truly believe for a beginner to the Bible it would be more helpful if the verses listed were from the NIV, NKJV or the Amplified Bible so the verbiage is more clearly understood. However, I did enjoy reading your work although I have read much of the Bible myself, but one should never tire in the work of the Lord.. As a Roman Catholic, I believe that it is not enough to pray, and go to church, we shall also read the bible every now and then for us to know and understand more the teachings of the Lord, and apply it in our lives. As my Religious and Values Education teacher said before, the words of the bible are the food of our soul. When I began to read my sample of this book, I knew that it was necessary to read the entire manuscript. The author is able to explain Muslim history, tradition and religious texts in a clear and illuminating fashion. If people are confused about the purpose of Islamic republics or their inhabitants, reading this book is a must.

This book should be required reading for non-Muslims. It explains what Islam is and more importantly, what it is not. This book is everything the mainstream media is not. Americans had better wake up or we will be turning into Europe before long. There is still time to save the United States, Canada too. Read this book!

Bought this for my granddaughter who is 9. She loves MindCraft so I thought Colter would be the perfect topic for a biographical report for school. We read the book together...highlighting the parts that she needed to use for the report. We both had a great time with it. I've seen Coulter's work at the Grand Canyon and stayed in La Posada in Winslow, AZ. The book was well written and the chapters were perfect for this project.

This work offers insight not only to Mary Colter's work but also to her personality. She had talent and was proud of it. How much we have benefitted from her knowledge and her empathy for the peoples of the Southwest..

Mary Jane Colter was an extraordinary lady for her day. This book gives insight into her imagination, drive, and desire for living.

A beautiful, wonderful book!

Mary Colter was an amazing woman. As an architect, she built structures that blend into the native landscapes in ways that enhance the landscape rather than detract from it. Her sense of style is still very much with us today in her love for Native American furnishings and artifacts. Her attention to detail has been largely responsible for the recognition of Southwestern art by those of us who live outside the region.That said, the book is a bit lean. It seems to be written for the casual reader rather than the scholar. But, given that it is marketed to the reading tourists, this is most probably appropriate. The many pictures (about half the pages) really help to bring the text to life.This book is a wonderful souvenir from the southwest, especially the Grand Canyon. This is its scope. Much more could have been written about Colter as one who broke through gender restrictions, about the spirituality that informed her work, and other topics. Depending on the reader's interests, this could be a plus or a minus. To this reader, it was just about the right level of detail.
