Such a cute book for our little 2 year old girl. Made very sturdy with a velcro strap that closes the book in the front.

This was a 2nd birthday gift, and my son really enjoys reading it -- he comes running and quiets right down anytime I ask him if he wants to read it. Good tractor pictures and some animal sounds -- a fun book.

Unfortunately, the book arrived but it was so dirty and beat up that I put it in the trash where it belonged.

This is a nice board book. Neat how you can feel different things like rough tires, smooth hoods, etc. I like That's Not My Tractor: Its Engine Is Too Bumpy (Usborne Touchy Feely) and My First Tractor Board Book (My 1st Board Books) better. This book is kind of small and doesn't have a lot of pages. It's not the "go to" tractor book for my boys.

My 3 year old son loves his book. It was a great Christmas gift. It was smaller than expected but still nice.

My son loves tractors and trucks and cars and he loves his tractor book with wheels on it. If your little boy loves anything that digs or rolls or drives buy this book.

Worth the $$ if you are a Disney theme park fan like my animator son! Very interesting and informative! Would have liked it even more if the pages would have had glossy pictures instead of the "matte paper" finish.

This book is for students of Walt Disney, Disneyland and Disney park history. And as students of same, my wife and I enjoy this book very much. No disappointment, here. It is a factual tribute to the Imagineers and players that make Disneyland the endearing, venerable institution it is today, and takes Disney Park window-watching to a whole new level. A must-have for Disney historians of all ages.

The book is nothing short of fantastic. It not only just includes Disneyland, but Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland. It is set up so that there a picture of one or two windows on the right page with a more in depth description of what the window says and who or what it is about. Words can not describe how beautiful this book truly is. I strongly recommend the hard back if you can get it cause it deserves to be sat out on tables or even brought to the park so you can read it as you look up at the windows. The print quality is probably the best of any of the multiple books about Disney I own and personally find the matte pictures make it easier to read.If you even have a passing interest in the windows of the Disney parks, this should be your first stop.

Another great book by Jeff Heimbuch. The windows in Disneyland and the other parks aren't always easy to see, and never had an all encompassing catalogue before this book. The photos and explanatory paragraphs make this a fun read and a great resource in the parks.

I am in my 40's, well past school and just interested in the social movements of the day. I often hear the term "Critical Theory" associated with the political ideologies of the left. I wanted to find out more about it, bought three books on the subject and this one was the only one that gave me that "Ah Ha" moment in understanding what Critical theory is. I went into this thinking Critical Theory was specifically a way of examining class relations and came out understanding Critical Theory is a way of looking at ALL subjects around us. To get a better understanding of class and race relations I now know which authors to look to and what the "sub-schools" of thought are to which I need to pay attention.

This is a good introduction to a train of thought that has transformed Western thought in the social sciences, while at the same time wreaking havoc by fostering a propensity for obfuscatory bloviation (I would us a harsher word, but don't want to risk getting censored). I earned a PhD in ethnomusicology five years ago, but was initially trained in the early 1970s before this trend became fashionable. I have found that it has become go-to jargon in my field and others, and has important merits. At the same time, it has become something of a fetish in academia, with scholars strutting about trying to demonstrate who is more socially conscious than whom. Nevertheless, academics must fortify themselves with this knowledge, if for no other reason but to make an articulate decision to forego using these ideas as the governing paradigm of one's work. To that end, this is a palatable way to ingest this set of idea. End of rant.

Reading this book is not going to make you an expert on Foucault or Lacan- however, if what you are seeking is an idea as to the spectrum of schools and branches and concerns of "critical theory," or if you're not even terribly sure what "critical theory" IS, then I suggest you pick this book up. When I was just getting started, it really helped me create a "cognitive map" of the field. Basically you get a mapped out schema of the world of critical theory, with a few tantalizing tidbits dropped about some of the thinkers- then it is up to you to go out and get the real books and start reading them. But if you are starting from nothing, and don't even know what you want to read- Donald Rumsfield's "Unknown Unknowns," then start reading this book so you can figure out what your "Known unknowns" are: "I don't know anything about Althusser, but judging on what I read in this book, I now know that I want to study him," etc. I have a few other of the "Introducing" books, and, honestly, the only one I came back to at all frequently was this one. It does not try to "explain" any particular thinker, but to introduce you to a field- I think in this regard I think it is sucessful. It is by no means perfect- for instance, Zizek only gets two teeny little pages- but, again, it is making various "names" available to you, various schools, various strands- Frankfurt school, Deconstruction, Structuralism, Post Marxist, Post Feminist, etc- so that you can go out and get started. I highly recommend this book. I think it is terrific. (Plus the illustrations are great fun!) Critical theory can be a confusing hodge podge of theoretical models- this book will help you on the path.

Worth the $5 paid both to clarify and elucidate any potholes in your philosophy education. This series is truly indispensable in today's world, not just for philosophy heads but for reaching out to the rest of society. The low price really is a part of that equation.

A great guide to critical theory

This book was fun to read. I liked how easily the author managed to reduce whole bodies of work into a sentence or two, which is precisely what I am looking for in these books. I agree with some of the other reviews here that he seems to dwell on Marxism and his influence, but I have always wondered why Marxism gets so much attention among "intellectuals" and this book helps to explain this phenomenon. While I doubt that this book sums up Critical Theory in its entirety, or even comes close, it definitely inspires further readings into the subject (at least it does for me), which is more than I can say for most books. I look forward to reading it again.

I like that this text is broad rather than deep. This is a fine starting point to choose a particular sub-area of critical theory and head down that rabbit hole.

This book is a tidy, small introduction that might help beginning literature students understand basic concepts. The book is not very well-organized, but nevertheless appeals to students because of the style in which it is written.

In fact, I canâ€™t imagine learning about this approach to leadership without the examples of putting the concept into action. The variety of authors also allowed for different approaches to show â€œone size does not fit allâ€. It also demonstrates that servant leadership can be applied in all types of businesses, agencies, schools, and non-profits of all sizes. This concept is not exclusive to churches or social change agencies there is benefit in one way or another for everyone.This book also introduced me to other authors and presenters that I have not heard of otherwise.

Get this book. Just do yourself a life-affirming favor and get it. I normally do not like edited books with many contributors since I prefer the continuity of thought and intent that comes from a single author but this is clearly an exception. It contains powerful perspectives from people who have "been there and done that" and I mined value from each essay. As someone who teaches, trains, and coaches on leadership development, this work should be on your leadership bookshelf or in your device.
