Joseph Romm, Ph.D., is one of the country's most influential communicators on climate science and solutions. Romm is Chief Science Advisor for Years of Living Dangerously series, which won the 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Nonfiction Series. He is the founding editor of Climate Progress, which New York Times columnist Tom Friedman called "the indispensable blog." In 2009, Time named him one of its "Heroes of the Environment," calling him "The Web's most influential climate-change blogger." In 2009, Rolling Stone put Romm on its list of 100 "people who are reinventing America." Romm was acting assistant secretary of energy in 1997, where he oversaw $1 billion in low-carbon technology development and deployment. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress and holds a Ph.D. in physics from MIT.

I learned a lot from this book and discovered that much of my information had been out of date. I especially like the emphasis on science and the objective approach in this book. It's not overtly political or emotional like so many other books on the subject. It also answered my questions around what I can do personally to have a meaningful impact.
I recommend this text highly. My students found it especially useful.
A little heady and could’ve used some illustrations! But overall, a pretty darn comprehensible book about the scary path we are headed down.
Must-read for those interested in climate change.
Great book with lots of answers to common questions and some rather disturbing predictions.
I listened to this book on audible and will be buying the kindle edition as well. Excellent information completely backed up with hard science that paints a dire picture of the future. I am convinced we are in a "too little too late" position due to the unpopular political decisions that must be made on a global scale. I fervently hope our current administration will be held accountable for its inaction and denials...at the time of this review, the Fourth National Climate Assessment, Volume 2 was just prematurely released two days ago on Black Friday while the public was distracted rather than as planned in December. Shameful. This book should be required reading for all schools. If you have any doubt at all about human induced climate change, please read this book.
